8.5.6 Application and perspectives
The ultimate application of these manufacturing technologies is semiconductor fabrication. However, before that point there are a number of applications for which nanoimprint lithography and other techniques may be better suited in the short to medium turn. These include:
- High Brightness LEDs
- Storage media
- MEMs
- Flat Panel Displays
- Flexible Electronics
Both NIL and DPN may also have applications in biomedical fields, producing devices such as biosensors.
